
Dr. Steven Vollmer, D.C., D.A.A.P.M., is a
Memphis
native who has special training and expertise in chiropractic neurology, sports injuries and pain management. His work is especially helpful for patients suffering from such problems as headaches and chronic muscle pain and tension.
He graduated from
Overton
High School
and attended
Union
University
in
Jackson
,
Tennessee
and the
University
of
Memphis
. In 1987 he graduated summa cum laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic in
Davenport
,
Iowa
, where he earned his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Chiropractic degrees.
After working for a brief time as a clinical teaching resident at Palmer, Dr. Vollmer joined a practice in
New Hampshire
. He later returned to
Memphis
to open his own practice in April of 1990 and merged his practice with Cole Pain Therapy Group in 1998. Dr. Vollmer has completed the coursework toward a diplomate in neurology and completed a 120-hour course in chiropractic sports certification through Northwestern College of Chiropractic. He also received a diplomate from the
American
Academy
of Pain Management in 1998.
Dr. Vollmer served two years as district IX director of the Tennessee Chiropractic Association, served as former secretary/treasurer and president of the Shelby County Chiropractic Association, and he has been secretary/treasurer of ConservCare, LLC, since its inception in 1996. He also holds numerous academic honors and awards.
For several years, Dr. Vollmer has been one of a handful of chiropractors in
Memphis
to treat patients referred from the
Church
Health
Center
. During his years in practice, he has spoken to numerous civic groups, churches, and schools about chiropractic and related health matters. He has appeared on local television and radio shows and has been interviewed on news reports to discuss health care and answer questions about chiropractic.
